Activity

An Activity records action that has actually begun, occurred, or been completed in the world or operational system.

04 §13.1 · Activity · RSM Canonical Model & Protocol Specification

Specification-sourced: quoted from the governing specification, pending the applicable specification-owner approvals. The specification controls.

In RSMOne's words

When the mill runs a milling batch or a farm implements a soil practice, that work is recorded as Activity. Planned work that has not begun stays in Intent, Proposal or Commitment, and completion of an Activity never stands in for proof of its consequence.

What it is not

  • Activity ≠ Outcome

Activity records what was done; Outcome records an evaluated consequence, so completing an Activity, even exactly as planned, is not evidence that the intended change occurred. 04 §13.2 · Activity Is Not Outcome
